No. 1 Duke Faces Utah Valley After 97-68 Win Over Elon

Duke faces Utah Valley on Saturday, less than 24 hours after posting a 97-68 win over Elon to open the season. The victory over Elon was the 999th for Mike Krzyzewski at Duke. On Veterans Day, Coach K, a 1969 Army grad and former head coach at West Point, looks to become the first head coach in Division I men's basketball to win 1,000 games at a single school.

The freshmen class had a record setting debut on Friday night. The 66 combined points by Duke newcomers was the second highest total in Duke history, just behind the 67 scored by the freshman on Nov. 14, 2014 against Presbyterian.

Marvin Bagley III became just the second Blue Devil freshman to post a double-double in a season opener and his 25 points were the most by a Duke freshman in a season opener.

Utah Valley led fifth-ranked Kentucky 34-25 at the half last night, but could not hold on, falling to the Wildcats 73-63. The Wolverines had five different players reach double digits in scoring, led by Kenneth Ogbe's 12.

It will be the first all-time meeting between the Blue Devils and Wolverines.
