Second-ranked Boston College opens the second half against New Hampshire at 7 p.m. on Friday (Jan. 8) at Kelley Rink on NESN. The series concludes on Sunday (Jan. 10) at the Whittemore Center in Durham at 4 p.m. on SportsLive.

The Eagles are 5-1-0 through six games, while the Wildcats enter the series at 2-3-1. BC hasn't lost at home to New Hampshire in more than nine years (Nov. 5, 2010) and is unbeaten in its last 11 home meetings in the series (9-0-2).

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
• UNH traveled to face UMass on Wednesday afternoon and was shut out 4-0 at the Mullins Center, falling to 2-3-1 overall on the season
• The Wildcats split a home-and-home with UConn on Jan. 1-2, dropping a 2-1 final at home before winning 2-1 in overtime on the road
• Junior Jackson Pierson leads the team in scoring early on with five points
• Senior Mike Robinson has started all six games between the pipes with a 2.15 goals against average and a .923 save percentage
• New Hampshire entered the final night of the 2019-20 regular season one point out of the final playoff spot behind Northeastern, but missed out on the postseason following a Huskies victory

• Yale transfer Jack St. Ivany is set to make his Boston College debut on Friday

• St. Ivany played for Team USA at World Juniors in 2019 and won a silver medal

GOLDEN EAGLES
• Sophomores Matt Boldy, Drew Helleson and Spencer Knight won gold medals for the United States at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship on Tuesday in Edmonton, defeating classmate Alex Newhook and Team Canada 2-0
• The trio gives Boston College 10 different players who have earned a total of 11 gold medals in the history of the World Junior Championship
• The U.S. won its fifth World Junior title and first since 2017 when an American squad featuring Casey Fitzgerald, Colin White and Joseph Woll defeated Canada in a shootout
• By winning silver, Newhook became just the third Eagle to capture a World Junior medal for Canada, joining Dan Bertram (gold in 2006 & 2007) and Chuck Kobasew (silver in 2002)

Spencer Knight went 5-1-0 in six starts for the U.S. with a 1.63 GAA and a .940 SV%
Matt Boldy finished tied for fourth among all players at the tournament in goals with five and had a point per game in seven contests
Drew Helleson had the primary assist on the game-winning goal against Canada
• The defenseman closed the event with two goals (both game-winners), two assists, and a +9 rating, tied for the U.S. team-lead

SEE YA 2020
Spencer Knight was named the Goaltender of the Month by Hockey East on Monday in a combined award for games played in November and December
Logan Hutsko was named the runner-up for Hockey East Player of the Month, while his linemate Nikita Nesterenko earned runner-up honors for the Rookie of the Month Award
• Knight went 4-0-0 in net for the Eagles before departing to compete for Team USA at Juniors
• The sophomore posted a 1.50 GAA and a .955 SV% in his first four starts

DONUTS
Spencer Knight has started 10 games between Boston College and Team USA, shutting out his opponent in half of those 10 contests
• Knight shut down the high-powered Canadians with 34 saves in the Gold Medal Game on Tuesday, posting the first shutout in a medal round game in U.S. history
• He also set the Team USA record for shutouts in a World Juniors single tournament (3) and in a World Juniors career (3)
• Knight has posted back-to-back shutouts for the Eagles, extending his shutout streak to 132 minutes and his unbeaten streak to 13 games (12-0-1) dating back to last season

Henry Wilder was recognized as the Hockey East Rookie of the Week on Dec. 14 following his first two collegiate starts
• The freshman posted a .920 save percentage over his first NCAA weekend against UConn, finishing with 69 total saves
• He made 30 saves and collected his first career win on Dec. 11 at Kelley Rink, then stopped 39 shots on Dec. 12 at the Freitas Ice Forum
