Fifth-year graduate senior Mason Harrell led the Texas State men's basketball team with 16 points in his final game in Strahan Arena in a 79-69 loss to Southern Miss. Harrell and fellow seniors Nighael Ceaser and Drue Drinnon were honored prior to tipoff for their contributions to the program.

Harrell finished the night shooting 6-of-11 from the field and went 2-for-5 on three-pointers. He set a career-high with five steals and dished out a team-high four assists. Ceaser recorded a 12-point performance and blocked a shot.

Nate Martin recorded his first career double-double with 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting and 10 rebounds.

With the result, TXST falls to 13-18 on the year and 6-12 in the Sun Belt Conference while USM ends the regular season at 25-6 and 14-4 in league action.

The game began with the Bobcats scoring the first five points with three coming from Ceaser. After the Golden Eagles tied it up, TXST would go back ahead by three twice with both coming on made layups courtesy of Brandon Love.

A three-pointer by Davion Coleman at the 10:02 mark would put the Bobcats in front 20-19. A minute later, USM would start a 10-0 run to go in front for good.

Texas State pulled to within six after netting three straight buckets with the last two coming from Martin.

Harrell capped off the scoring on the night with his second made trey with seconds left on the clock.

Next up for the Bobcats is the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Pensacola, Florida. They will enter as the 11th seed and face 14th seed Georgia State at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday on ESPN+.
