Sam Hofman, a 6-5, 280-pound senior forward who played the last two seasons at Houston Christian University, has signed a men's basketball aid agreement to attend Temple University.

Hofman is the fifth signee by first-year Temple head coach Adam Fisher, joining Steve Settles III, a 6-10, 180-pound forward who played the last three seasons at Howard; Jordan Riley, a 6-4, 200-pound sophomore guard who played the last two seasons at Georgetown; Quante Berry, a 6-4, 175-pound freshman guard who redshirted last season at Providence; and Matteo Picarelli, a 6-2, 185-pound guard, who played the last three seasons at UMBC.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Sam Hofman to the Temple Family," said Fisher. "Sam is extremely versatile on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor which will allow us to play him at different positions throughout the season. Sam is a guy that can really space the floor and also can score inside. His experience collegiately and internationally in Belgium is something that will greatly impact our program immediately. We are thrilled that Sam and his mother Monique are joining the Temple Family."

"I chose Temple because of how comfortable I felt around the coaches and their vision of the game of basketball," said Hofman. "I love how detailed they are and how professional everything is. Coach Huger's professional career and mutual contacts in Belgium was also big. I can't wait to wear the Cherry and White"

A native of Brussels, Belgium (Stedelijk Lyceum Topsport), Hofman played in all 32 games last season, making 23 starts. He averaged 6.6 points per game while leading the Huskies in rebounding (6.2 rpg.) and ranking second in three-point percentage (31-82, .378). He scored in double figures seven times with a season-high 18 points twice and pulled down double digit rebounds five times, including a double-double (15 pts, 12 rebs) against Nicholls.

As a junior in 2021-22, Hofman played in all 29 games, making 25 starts. He averaged 8.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. He tallied double figures 13 times, including a career-high 22 points against Southeastern Louisiana and recorded two double-doubles. He also led the Huskies in three-point percentage, making 42-of-108 for 38.9 percent.

Prior to Houston Christian, Hofman played at Salt Lake Community College (2020-21) and Detroit Mercy (2019-20).
