The Memphis Tigers picked up a statement win with an 81-75 victory over No. 21/19 Texas A&M Sunday afternoon in College Station. It is the first true road win over a ranked opponent for Memphis since 2022 at Houston.

The Tigers now have three wins over SEC opponents this season, including two against AP ranked squads.

With back-to-back road wins, Memphis improved to 7-2 on the year while Texas A&M dropped to 7-3.

David Jones led the Tigers with 29 points and seven rebounds, while Jahvon Quinerly added 24 points and a team-high five assists.

Caleb Mills also finished in double figures with 13 points, 11 of which came in the second half.

Jones ripped off 14-straight points in the middle of the first half to help the Tigers to a 38-29 lead at the break. He and Quinerly combined for 30 of the team's 38 points.

Texas A&M battled back early in the second half to pull within two, but the Tigers defense was ferocious and they continued to come up with big plays down the stretch on both ends.

Jones, Quinerly and Mills scored 34 of the 43 points in the second half and helped Memphis build a 14-point lead with less than three minutes to play.

The Tigers shot 48.1 percent from the field, converting on 25-of-52 shot attempts. They also hit 9-of-22 from deep (40.9%) and 22-of-29 at the charity stripe (75.9%).

Memphis' defense limited the Aggies to just 39.1 percent shooting (25-64) and locked them down from long range. Texas A&M made just 6-of-33 three-pointers Sunday after making 14 – which tied for the second most in school history – against DePaul on Wednesday.

Manny Obaseki led the Aggies with 21 points, while no other player reached double figures.
