Xavier Musketeers Release 2017-18 Men's Basketball Schedule

Xavier University and the BIG EAST Conference announced the 2017-18 men's basketball schedule, including available game times and television for the complete slate. Xavier is coming off an NCAA Tournament Elite Eight season.

SCHOOL-RECORD 18 HOME GAMES

Xavier opens the regular season on Friday, Nov. 10 vs. Morehead State at 7 p.m. for Opening Night at the Cintas Center. The MSU game is one of a school-record 18 regular season home games this season at Cintas Center, which saw the completion of some exciting upgrades to seating and hospitality in the offseason.

The Musketeers host 12 games against 2017 postseason teams, including 10 games against 2017 NCAA teams highlighted by six BIG EAST contests: Butler on Jan. 2 on FS1, Creighton on Jan. 13, on FOX, Marquette on Jan. 24 on FS1, Seton Hall on Feb. 14 on FS1, Villanova on Feb. 17 on FOX and Providence on Feb. 28 on FS1. In non-conference play Xavier hosts Baylor on Nov. 28, Kent State on Dec. 6, East Tennessee State on Dec. 16 and Cincinnati on Dec. 2. The annual Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout tips off at noon at Cintas Center on FS1.

EVERY GAME ON NETWORK TV

All 31 of Xavier's regular season games are scheduled for national or regional television coverage, including five and possibly six on FOX National, including FOX19 in Cincinnati. There are at least 17 games and possibly 18 games on FS1, four on CBS Sports Network and four other on FOX networks to be determined.

BIG EAST OPENER IN MILWAUKEE

Xavier opens the 2017-18 BIG EAST schedule at Marquette on Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 8:30 p.m. on FS1. The BIG EAST regular season schedule features home-and-home series against six 2017 NCAA Tournament teams, including Butler, Creighton, Marquette, Providence, Seton Hall and Villanova. St. John's, Georgetown and DePaul round out the rugged round-robin 18-game BIG EAST schedule. XU finishes the BIG EAST slate with a visit to DePaul's new home at Wintrust Arena on Saturday, March 3.

TOUGH NON-CONFERENCE SLATE

The impressive non-conference schedule includes the Gavitt Tipoff Games contest at Wisconsin on Nov. 16 on FS1, one of six potential non-conference games against 2017 NCAA Tournament teams. The Musketeers face George Washington and either Kansas State, a 2017 NCAA entrant, or Arizona State in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational on Thanksgiving weekend that will be broadcast on FOX and FS1.

AS MANY AS 18 GAMES VS. NCAA TEAMS

In addition to the 18 potential games against 2017 NCAA teams, there are three other 2017 postseason teams on the slate. Colorado was a 2017 NIT participant, while both George Washington and Hampton earned spots in the 2017 CBI. That brings the number of potential regular season games vs. 2017 postseason teams to at least 20 and as many as 21 games.
