We are now a month into the college football season. Some Big Ten teams have already played five games. And a month in, if there is any question where the balance of power lies in the B1G… there shouldn’t be.

The Nebraska football team improved to 2-0 in the Big Ten on Friday night with a 28-6 road win over the win over the Illinois Fighting Illini in front of a national television audience on FS1. The Husker offense totaled 411 yards on the night, while the Blackshirts held the Illini to 199 yards.

Iowa fans are going to be kicking themselves for a while with their team blowing a chance to spoil Penn State’s season. On the other hand, that could be the comeback we see on a season-ending highlight film as PSU rides into the College Football Playoff.

This Saturday the University of Minnesota will recognize the 1967 football team in honor of their Big Ten championship 50-year anniversary.

Indiana senior tight end Ian Thomas has been named the John Mackey Award Tight End of the Week, it was announced.
