The USF Bulls outlasted an upset-minded Tulsa team on Thursday night for a 27-20 victory that ensures the American Athletic Conference's East Division will be decided on Black Friday when South Florida clashes with Central Florida in the annual War on I-4 rivalry game.

The American had a good night on the hardwood with teams from the league going 3-1 in out of conference play Wednesday, but there are more games on tap today, including a football game that features the 8-1 USF Bulls playing host to the upset-minded Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

The college basketball season is in full swing with teams from The American in action last night as both the UConn Huskies and Memphis Tigers recorded wins. With another four games on tap Wednesday, you would think the talk would be focused on the hardwood, but while we check in on round-ball, there is still a lot of football left to be played.

We saw this last season and it looks like it will be "deja vu all over again," as Yogi Berra used to say. Houston went through it with Tom Herman in his second season and now UCF seems to be experiencing it with Scott Frost, but anyone who has spoken to both of the coaches mentioned knows they are completely different.

Fans of the American Athletic Conference continue to get a better idea of how big the hill is that the league must climb with each week's release of college football polls. The American clearly has the other power conferences scared and that is to be expected.
