After an extended weekend to celebrate President's Day, which only makes sense when you cover the American Athletic Conference, we're back to catch readers and listeners up on what's happening around the league.

Shawn Williams was named American Athletic Conference Rookie-of-the-Week for the fourth time after averaging 27.5 points per game in a pair of contests last week. The Little Rock, Ark., native dropped 29 points on Tulane in New Orleans Wednesday night and followed that with 26 points against UConn Sunday.

Jalen Adams scored 28 points and made two free throws with 14 second left to give UConn (13-14, 6-8) an 84-80 win over ECU (10-15, 4-10) inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum Sunday afternoon.

Isaac Copeland scored 17 points to pace three Huskers in double figures, but Nebraska could not overcome Illinois' hot-shooting first half and Leron Black's career day, as the Huskers fell 72-66 on Sunday at the State Farm Center, putting a stop to a six-game winning streak.

The Shockers are back in the American Athletic Conference race.

No. 19/18 Wichita State ended No. 5/5 Cincinnati's nation-best 39-game home winning streak and notched its first true road win over an AP Top-5 opponent in 54 years with a 76-72 victory Sunday afternoon at Northern Kentucky University's BB&T Arena.
