The College Football Playoff rankings are still a hot topic and along with the polls, another popular topic with fans is where the American Athletic Conference championship game for football will be hosted.

ECU Head Men's Basketball Coach Jeff Lebo announced the signings of three National Letters of Intent Wednesday – Jayden Gardner, DeShaun Wade and Mike Wynn. The trio will join the Pirate program starting with the 2018-19 season.

It's no secret that the American Athletic Conference has an uphill battle when it comes to getting respect. The College Football Playoff committee is a prime example this, because while the playoffs are said to be open to anyone in the FBS - just like the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) was, we all knew that an undefeated Tulane wouldn't get placed in the BCS National Championship Game and it seems the current CFB playoffs are trying to keep "others" out too.

Fans will have their first look at the 2017-18 Temple men's basketball team on Thursday, Nov. 9 as the Owls play an exhibition game against Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) at 7:30 p.m. in the Liacouras Center. Temple will play its first six regular season games away from home before returning on Dec. 6 to face Wisconsin.

The American is having a great season on the gridiron with a New Year's Six bowl all but locked up for the league and if that isn't enough, college basketball is right around the corner. In fact, ten teams will tip-off on Friday, including #7 Wichita State and #12 Cincinnati as the Shockers and Bearcats each host out-of-conference foes to begin the season.
