The Sun Devil hockey program has made a schedule change for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 season, resulting in a switch in home-and-home series with the University of Alabama-Huntsville. The Chargers were scheduled to host Arizona State on Dec. 2-3 in Huntsville, but will now instead travel to Tempe on Nov. 3-4, 2017. Both games will be played at Oceanside Ice Arena.

Mel Pearson has been named the University of Michigan's head coach of ice hockey, as announced by Warde Manuel, the Donald R. Shepherd Director of Athletics. Pearson, who becomes the ninth head coach in program history, returns to Ann Arbor after previously serving 23 seasons as an assistant coach for the Wolverines.

Head coach Red Berenson announced today that he is retiring after 33 seasons at the helm of the University of Michigan ice hockey program and that he will remain as a special advisor to Warde Manuel, the Donald R. Shepherd Director of Athletics.

What began as a close back and forth contest quickly turned into a 10-3 blowout as the Penn State Nittany Lions defeated the Union Dutchmen in dominant fashion on Saturday to advance to the Midwest Regional Final on the road to the Frozen Four.

The No. 1 Pioneers proved why they are the top overall seed on Saturday in Cincinnati as Denver put on a strong showing and defeated the Michigan Tech Huskies, 5-2, to open the Midwest Regional.
