After a career game in WKU's 45-14 win over Charlotte, senior Deon Yelder has been named the John Mackey Tight End of the Week, it was announced Wednesday morning. Yelder had career highs of seven catches for 92 yards - all in the first half - while scoring his second touchdown of the season, an 8-yarder on the Hilltoppers' opening drive.

The Old Dominion football team (2-4, 0-2 C-USA) fell to Marshall (5-1, 2-0 C-USA) by a 35-3 score at Joan C. Edwards Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Monarchs out-gained the Thundering Herd 81-21, while holding a 11:32-3:28 advantage for time of possession for the first quarter; however, the game remained scoreless after the opening 15 minutes.

The 2017 season is already hitting the midpoint and 10 C-USA teams are at least halfway to bowl-eligibility. Saturday's slate includes six conference matchups and one non-conference tilt.

UTEP will look to chalk up its first victory as the Miners (0-6, 0-2 Conference USA West) will play their first C-USA road game of the season at Southern Miss (3-2, 1-1 C-USA West) on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. MT/6 CT from Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium.

Conference USA announced today that Dynacraft Wheels has entered into an agreement to be the title sponsor for the C-USA Football Championship for the second consecutive year. The 2017 title game will be played on Saturday, Dec. 2, at a site to be determined and will be televised by the ESPN family of networks.
