Quinn Ewers passed for 369 yards, but the No. 20 Texas football team fell 27-20 against No. 12 Washington in the Alamo Bowl on Thursday.

Ewers passed 2,000 yards for the season, becoming just the fifth Texas freshman to pass for more than 2,000 yards in a season.

Xavier Worthy brought in seven receptions for 84 yards. Eight different Longhorns caught a pass in the game. 

Texas finished the season with an 8-5 record.

KEY STATISTICS 

• Quinn Ewers completed 31 passes in the game. 

• Texas held a 369-287 yard advantage in pass yards. 

• After Washington got on the board first with a field goal, Texas came back on a 10-play 78-yard drive that ended in a Bert Auburn 30-yard field goal to tie the game 3-3. 

• Washington running back Wayne Taulapapa rushed 42 yards for a touchdown to put Washington up 10-3. Washington led 13-3 at halftime. 

• Texas scored their first touchdown of the game on their opening drive of the second half. A key 21-yard pass play to Xavier Worthy on third down paved the way for a 34-yard touchdown reception from Ewers to Jonathon Brooks to get Texas within three at 13-10. 

• Washington scored back-to-back touchdowns to take a 27-10 lead in the fourth quarter. 

• Brooks added a three-yard rushing touchdown to cap an 11-play, 74-yard drive to close the gap to 27-17. 

• Bert Auburn punched through a 26-yard field goal to bring the Longhorns within seven at 27-20. 

• Auburn ended the season with 116 points, the second most in a season for a Longhorn kicker. It was his 21stfield goals in 2022, the fourth most in a season for a UT kicker.
