Texas A&M, Kansas State, Texas Southern, UIW and UTRGV have been announced as future opponents for Texas State football as the Bobcats released their remaining non-conference opponents through the 2028 season.

Texas State, which is already set to play Arizona State in 2024 and 2025 as well as Texas in 2026, will play Texas A&M on Sept. 4, 2027 at Kyle Field in College Station. On Sept. 2, 2028, the Bobcats will face the Wildcats at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kan.

The Bobcats are also scheduled to play home games against UIW in 2026, Ohio in 2027, UTRGV in 2027 and 2030, and Texas Southern in 2028. Texas State is the first FBS opponent announced for UTRGV, which will take the field for its first season of competition at the FCS level in 2025. The Vaqueros are coached by Travis Bush, who played for Texas State in 1995-99 and was associate head coach, co-offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach and wide receivers coach for the Bobcats from 2004-10.

Texas A&M, Texas Southern, UIW and UTRGV represent four of the 10 teams from the state of Texas on the Bobcats' future schedules. The others include UTSA (2024-31), Texas (2026), North Texas (2026, 2030), UTEP (2028, 2031), Lamar (2024) and Sam Houston (2024).

K-State, meanwhile, is the second team from the Big 12 team on future schedules (other: Arizona State, a member starting in 2024).
