University of Massachusetts hockey forward Bobby Trivigno and defenseman Scott Morrow have been recognized with honors from the New England Hockey Writers Association.

Trivigno was named the Leonard Fowle Award winner as the New England Division I Men's Most Valuable Player and earned the Herb Gallagher Award as the top forward in New England. Trivigno also was selected to the New England Men's Division I All-Star Team, alongside Morrow.

Trivigno joins Cale Makar as the second Minuteman to be named a Leonard Fowle Award winner and is the third player in program history to receive the Herb Gallagher Award as Makar and John Leonard were previously honored in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

Trivigno became the first player in program history to become a two-time All-American at the Division I level this spring, among a host of accolades. The 2021-22 College Hockey News Player of the Year was the recipient of the Walter Brown Award for a second-straight year in 2022, presented annually to the best American-born Division I college hockey player in New England, just the fourth player to win the award in back-to-back years since it was first presented in 1953.

In addition to back-to-back All-America and Walter Brown Award nods, Trivigno also repeated as a member of the Hockey East All-Tournament Team and Hockey East Tournament MVP this spring after helping UMass to its second consecutive Hockey East Tournament title. Continuing his laundry list of accolades, Trivigno was a Top-10 Finalist for the 2022 Hobey Baker Award and was crowned the 2021-22 Hockey East Player of the Year, joining 2019 Hobey Baker winner Makar as the only two Minutemen to earn that distinction. In addition, Trivigno was named a unanimous 2021-22 Hockey East First Team All-Star selection, his second career Hockey East First Team recognition.

Trivigno finished third in the nation in points with 49 on 20 goals and 29 assists, all career highs for the forward over 37 games this season. He was fifth nationally in points per-game (1.32), tied for eighth in assists and was 11th in goals. Trivigno was crowned the 2021-22 Hockey East Scoring Champion with an average of 1.33 points per game, nearly .20 higher than his closest competitor, putting up a league-best 32 points over 24 contests on 14 goals and 18 assists, ranking second in both categories.

Morrow joined Trivigno as a First Team Hockey East All-Star this season and was also a Hockey East All-Rookie Team honoree. He ended the season tied for sixth among the nation's freshmen in goals (13), seventh in points (33) and 11th in points per-game (.892). He was third among rookie defensemen in points per-game, second in goals and points and fifth in assists (20).

Among all defensemen nationally, Morrow finished eighth in points per-game, tied for fourth in goals and fifth in points. He ended his rookie campaign +11 over 37 games and contributed three power-play goals and three game winners.

The Darien Connecticut native became the fourth defenseman in program history to reach the 30-point plateau and first to do so as a freshman, later joined by classmate Ryan Ufko. Morrow's 13 goals tied for fourth-most by a defenseman in a single season in program history, with the only Minutemen defensemen to score more in a single season being UMass Hall of Famer Thomas Poeck (twice) and Makar (16 in 2018-19).

Morrow was Hockey East's top scoring rookie and led all defensemen in league play with 23 points over 24 games. He tied for seventh with 11 goals and tied for sixth in points per-game (9.583), first among rookies and first among defensemen in both categories.
