A hard-fought 13-inning affair ended in a 2-1 victory for the No. 13-ranked University of Michigan baseball team on Tuesday (April 11), as sophomore Jonathan Engelmann knocked in the game-winner in the bottom 13th with a walk-off double to defeat Eastern Michigan at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium.
Kent State (17-9) fell on Tuesday in a 11-6 game to Youngstown State (7-18).
The Penguins took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd on a walk, error and single but the Flashes posted a three-run 3rd to get in front. It started with a Reilly Hawkins double followed by a RBI base hit by Nick Kanavas. Luke Burch then walked to put two on. After two outs, Tim DalPorto singled in Kanavas and an error allowed Burch to follow him home.
