Eight former Vandals are currently in NFL training camps, and all eight are slated to take the field in preseason action this week. One game features Austin Rehkow's Buffalo Bills going head-to-head with Aaron Grymes' Philadelphia Eagles.

The ECU football team finalized preparations for its second and final scrimmage of preseason camp with a lively 55-minute morning workout in helmets and shorts Friday morning at Hight Field inside the Cliff Moore Practice Complex.

Saturday will mark two weeks until the Arizona Wildcats kick off their 2017 season at Arizona Stadium versus NAU.

But this Saturday, there will be some real – OK, semi-real—football in Tucson. Arizona will close out its training camp Saturday morning with its first scrimmage of the summer. Coach Rich Rodriguez and the Wildcats have had mini-scrimmages and have gone "live" with tackling, but they haven't simulated a game with the coaches on the sidelines and the players having to make decisions on their own without the coaches behind them.

As Mizzou Football broke from spring camp this season, those surrounding the program and those familiar with the team had a good idea of who the main contributors at linebacker would be as the team headed into fall camp. But during the dog days of summer, a large contingent of football pundits around the nation viewed Mizzou's linebacker group as a bit of an unknown. After losing tenured senior starters Michael Scherer and Donavin Newsom, Mizzou seemingly had holes to fill at that position. As the team headed to SEC Media Day in mid-July, Mizzou senior middle linebacker Eric Beisel made sure that it would be the last time Mizzou's linebacking crew would be an unknown.

The rule of three is an old writing premise that suggests everything is better in threes – that the number three helps engage the reader and helps them remember the story and connect to it.

The rule has stood the test of time. Think about all of the things that come in threes: little pigs, musketeers (the book and the candy bar), kings of Orient are, and original Star Wars movies.
