The Temple men's soccer team (2-7-2, 0-5-0 AAC) was narrowly defeated by the Memphis Tigers (6-2-3, 3-1-1), 1-0 at home on Sunday night.

The game was hotly contested in the second half, with the Owls pressing to score and nearly breaking through to tie the match several times.

How it Happened
> Memphis pressed early. The Tigers had the first five shots of the match, including one saved by Temple goalkeeper Eoin Gawronski and two off the woodwork.
> Yann Kouemi had a fantastic chance in the 34th minute. The forward beat the keeper and had a wide open net far outside the box, but a Memphis defender was able to beat Kouemi to the spot and forced the shot well outside the cage.
> Gawronski made back-to-back saves in the 54th and 59th minutes.
> Lleyton Imparato had a strong chance in the 68th minute to even the contest following an offsides call on Memphis, but it was turned away by Memphis goalkeeper Colin Welsh.
> In the 75th minute, Ferran Vera Filella was handed his second yellow card of the match resulting in a red card. Temple was forced to play the remainder of the game with 10 men on the field.
> The final minute of the match was action-packed. Kouemi fired a near-perfect ball that arced towards the net and looked to be a surefire goal, but Welsh made a spectacular play on the ball to deflect it out of bounds and force a corner with just nine seconds left. The Owls had a strong chance on the corner, but it was too little, too late. Memphis took the game by a score of 1-0.

Game Notes
> Imparato's three shots set a new career high for him.
> Fabian Grant's full 90 was his first of the season.
> Eight cards were pulled in this match, five on Temple and two on USF. Filella's red card means he will miss Temple's game against FAU Friday.
