NC State gave the defending national champions all they could handle, but the Wolfpack didn't leave upstate New York with a win.

Instead NC State had its second straight draw, this time 0-0 with the Orange. It's the second straight season the two teams ended in a draw.

The Wolfpack (6-8-2) had a chance to get its first road win since 2021 and its first win over a ranked opponent since 2019..

Freshman Hakim Karamoko gave NC State the lead in the 50th minute, scoring from inside the box, his third goal of the year. The Pack had the momentum for the next few minutes, sparked by Karamoko's goal and multiple saves in the net from another freshman, Samuel Terranova.

But one big mistake hurt NC State. The Wolfpack scored an accidental own goal in the 76th minute to tie the match at one.

Terranova, in his third consecutive start, finished with six saves for NC State.
