The University of Louisville men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss at No. 11 North Carolina on Sunday evening.

The match was the final road contest of the regular season for Louisville (9-4-2, 2-4-1 ACC), which closes out the regular season at 3-3-1 away from home.

North Carolina (7-2-5, 2-2-3) wasted no time on Sunday, getting on the scoreboard less than three minutes into the match.

The Tar Heels made the early goal hold for the duration of the first half, taking a 10-3 shot advantage into the halftime break.

The Cardinals regrouped to start the second half and had much of the possession and the only three shots in the first 15 minutes after intermission, however Louisville's efforts never resulted in a goal.

With numbers pushed forward in the closing stages of the match, North Carolina was able to get free behind the Louisville defense and put the final stamp on the contest with a goal with just over three minutes remaining.

For the night, UNC outshot the Cardinals 15-7 with corner kicks even at four apiece.

Louisville returns home to close out the regular season on Friday night against No. 3 Wake Forest. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
