Alabama men's basketball head coach Avery Johnson announced on Saturday that senior guard/forward Riley Norris will miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season with a hip injury.

Closing out the 2017 season, Mississippi State (9-4, 4-4 SEC) defeated Louisville (8-5, 4-4 ACC) 31-27 in the TaxSlayer Bowl Saturday at EverBank Field. Coached by an interim staff led by Greg Knox, the Bulldogs put on an impressive display in all facets of the game, highlighted by big plays on each side of the ball.

The 19th-ranked Tennessee Volunteers are set to begin conference play this weekend, starting with a trip to face Arkansas at Bud Walton Arena on Saturday. The game will tip at 1 p.m. and will be televised live on SEC Network.

Mizzou Football lost a hard-fought, 26-16 contest in the 2017 Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl Wednesday night (Dec. 27) at NRG Stadium. Mizzou fumbled twice, one resulting in a scoop-and-score, and allowed a safety as turnovers and mistakes plagued the Tigers in the loss.

Georgia's Yante Maten was named the Southeastern Conference's Player of the Week, the league office in Birmingham, Ala., announced on Tuesday. Maten led the Bulldogs in a pair of decisive victories over Georgia Tech and Temple last week.
