The NC State men's and women's Cross Country programs placed 13 student-athletes on the 2022 All-ACC Academic team, the league office announced.

Nine members of the national champion women's team and four members of the Wolfpack men's team that finished 11th in the country last season earned the honor.

The nine selections from the women's team ties the program mark that was set last season. The honorees on the women's side include: Katelyn Tuohy, Kelsey Chmiel, Alyssa Hendrix, Mariah Howlett, Gionna Quarzo, Brooke Rauber, Nevada Mareno, Sydney Seymour, and Shannon Sefton.

Tuohy, who was also announced as the 2022 ACC Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earned All-ACC Academic honors for the third straight year. It marks the fourth consecutive year that NC State has boasted the league's top women's cross country scholar-athlete (Elly Henes in 2019, Hannah Steelman in 2020, and Chmiel in 2021).

Chmiel earned Academc All-ACC recognition for the fourth time in her career after claiming a third-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships and finishing as runner-up in the ACC Championships and the Southeast Regionals.

Howlett and Mareno have also earned academic all-league honors for multiple years, earning the accolades three times and two times respectively.

On the men's side, the Wolfpack is represented by Brett Gardner, Ian Harrison, Travis Kokemoer, and David Vorbach, all first-time honorees.

Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in either the ACC Championship or NCAA Championship in the sport of cross country.
