Little Rock Head Coach Darrell Walker announced the addition of former South Florida guard Jamir Chaplin to the Trojans program for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound guard joins Little Rock's Team after making 48 starts in 99 games played over his South Florida career, averaging 6.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.3 blocks per game while averaging 18.6 minutes per game in the challenging American Athletic Conference.

"Jamir is a good athlete and a solid shooter that will give us size and length on the perimeter," said Walker of his new guard. "He has a chance to be a good defensive player for us and he comes to Little Rock with extensive Division I experience."

Chaplin averaged 7.4 points per game and grabbed 31 total rebounds while shooting 44% from the field last year in Tampa. That included a career-high nine rebounds at Memphis scoring a career-best 23 points in a 71-63 win against East Carolina.

Originally from Norcross, Georgia, Chaplin made 22 starts in 27 games overall in his junior season for the Bulls as he averaged 8.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Chaplin averaged 9.9 points in conference play on 44.1% shooting over 14 AAC games … He was third on the team with 118 total rebounds and poured in double figures in scoring 12 times, including in five straight games in the middle of the season.
