Alan Griffin led the Orange with 26 points. Quincy Guerrier (13 points), Buddy Boeheim (12 points), and Joseph Girard III (10 points) each joined Griffin in double figures. Jesse Edwards grabbed a team- and career-high eight boards and scored seven points off the bench.

The Orange offense has been one of the best in the ACC this season. Syracuse scores 76.3 points per contest, good for second in the league behind only #11/9 Florida State. Additionally, Griffin (15.5 ppg.) and Boeheim (15.3 ppg.) own scoring averages that rank eighth and ninth in the ACC, respectively. The only other school in the conference to have a pair of players with top-10 scoring averages is Georgia Tech (Moses Wright 17.5 ppg., Jose Alvarado 16.0 ppg.).

SUCCESS AT THE STRIPE
Syracuse has shot its free throws at a prolific rate this season. On the season, the Orange have converted 78.7 of their attempts from the line, the second-best mark in the ACC behind Virginia (80.1 percent) and 10th in the nation. Senior forward Marek Dolezaj's free throw percentage (.859) also ranks second in the ACC to Georgia Tech's Jose Alvarado (.869).

SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS
North Carolina pulled the upset against #11/9 Florida State on Saturday, sinking the Seminoles by a score of 78-70. The victory improves the Tar Heels to 15-8 overall and 9-5 against ACC opponents.

Sophomore forward/center Armando Bacot averages a team-best 11.2 points per game. Freshman forward/center Day'Ron Sharpe leads UNC in rebound (8.0) and block (0.9) average. Sharpe also leads the ACC and ranks 16th in the nation in offensive rebounds per contest (3.48).

Roy Williams is in his 18th season at the helm in Chapel Hill. Williams earned his 900th career victory when the Tar Heels defeated Florida State on Saturday, making him the fourth coach in NCAA Division I history to reach the 900-win plateau. Duke's Mike Krzyzewski (1,168 wins), Syracuse's Jim Boeheim (977 wins) and Bob Knight (902 wins) are the only head coaches with more career wins than Williams.
