Two Duke Blue Devils Named All-ACC by the Associated Press

Duke sophomore cornerback Mark Gilbert and redshirt sophomore linebacker Joe Giles-Harris were named to the Associated Press All-Atlantic Coast Conference first team, according to an announcement by the organization this week. The two were tabbed first team All-ACC in November.

Gilbert, a 6-1, 175-pound sophomore from Fayetteville, N.C., has compiled 31 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, six interceptions and 13 pass breakups this season. He ranks second in the ACC and tied for fourth nationally with his six INTs while pacing the league and standing fifth in the country in total passes defended with 19. Gilbert's 19 PBUs are tied with Erwin Sampson (1989) for the most in a year at Duke.

Giles-Harris, a 6-2, 230-pound redshirt sophomore from Nyack, N.Y., leads the Blue Devils in tackles (117) and tackles for loss (15.0) while adding 4.5 sacks, one interception, four pass breakups and seven quarterback pressures. He currently leads all ACC linebackers in tackles for loss while ranking 12th among active FBS players in career tackles for loss per game (1.02). Giles-Harris also ranks fith among active FBS players in career tackles per game with 9.33.

Duke returns to action December 26 at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich., for the Quick Lane Bowl. The Blue Devils (6-6) face Northern Illinois (8-4).
