The University of Memphis has named Dr. Ed Scott as its next Senior Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 22, 2024. Scott has served as Deputy Athletics Director at the University of Virginia since January 2022 and comes to Memphis with previous athletics director experience at Morgan State University.

All good things must come to an end, and that includes the run of David Pierce as the head coach of Texas Longhorns baseball. Pierce, who was at the helm of the program for three trips to the College World Series, was hired in June of 2016, and took UT to an NCAA Regional in his first season.
