(BCSNN) — Missouri quarterback Sam Horn will miss the remainder of the 2025 season after suffering a fractured tibia on the first play of the Tigers’ opener against Central Arkansas, head coach Eli Drinkwitz confirmed following midweek workouts for Mizzou. Horn underwent successful surgery and is expected to make a full recovery, but the injury marks a premature end to what was shaping up to be a pivotal year for the redshirt junior.

(BCSNN) — In a move few could have seen coming when the season began, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has named redshirt sophomore Ryan Staub the Buffaloes’ starting quarterback for Friday night’s Big 12 opener against Houston. Staub, who entered the season as Colorado’s third-string signal caller, leapfrogged veteran Kaidon Salter and heralded freshman Julian Lewis to earn the nod in what Sanders called “a blessing” for the program.
