(BCSNN) — The NCAA Division I Baseball Committee has announced the eight host sites and match-ups for the 2025 Super Regionals, set to take place June 6-9. The winners of these best-of-three series will advance to the Men’s College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, beginning June 13.
The first set of Super Regionals, scheduled for June 6-8, will feature Miami (FL) traveling to Louisville, No. 9 Florida State at No. 8 Oregon State, Arizona heading to No. 5 North Carolina, and No. 13 Coastal Carolina visiting No. 4 Auburn.
The second set of Super Regionals, running June 7-9, includes UTSA visiting No. 15 UCLA, Murray State squaring off against the Blue Devils at Duke, West Virginia looking to get past No. 6 LSU in Baton Rouge, and No. 14 Tennessee taking a trip to another SEC site in No. 3 Arkansas. These contests will determine the final four teams advancing to Omaha.
Several surprises emerged from the regional round, with seven national seeds failing to reach the Super Regionals. Murray State and Miami pulled off notable upsets, knocking off higher-seeded opponents to secure their spots in the next round. The tournament has already showcased the unpredictability of postseason baseball.
The SEC, traditionally dominant in the NCAA tournament, saw mixed results in the regional round. While Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, and Tennessee secured Super Regional berths, several top-ranked SEC teams, including Vanderbilt and Texas, were eliminated early. Meanwhile, the ACC has performed well, with Louisville, Florida State, Duke, and North Carolina all advancing.
Mid-major programs have also made their presence felt. Coastal Carolina, the top-ranked mid-major, swept through its regional to earn a spot against Auburn. UTSA reached its first-ever Super Regional after defeating No. 2 Texas, while Southern Miss and Murray State continue to challenge traditional powerhouses.
The Men’s College World Series schedule will be finalized following the conclusion of the Super Regionals. The first-round match-ups for June 13-14 will be announced on June 9, with ESPN and NCAA.com providing live coverage, and updates being made available on BCSNN. The championship series is set for June 21-23.
With the field narrowing to 16 teams, the road to Omaha intensifies, and the excitement is just getting started.
