Sun Devil Men's Basketball will participate in the 2023 Vegas Showdown taking place Nov. 23-24 at Michelob ULTRA Arena.

ESPN announced the full tournament field on Thursday. Arizona State is joined by BYU, NC State, and Vanderbilt in the four-team event. Matchups, ticket information, times, and television coverage details will be released at a later date. Two semifinal contests will be held on Thursday, Nov. 23 leading to the consolation (losing teams) and championship games (winning teams) on Friday, Nov. 24.

Three of the four teams in the 2023 Vegas Showdown are coming off a postseason appearance, highlighted by 2023 NCAA Tournament participants Arizona State and NC State. The inaugural version of this event is shaping up to be extremely entertaining, featuring four teams generating plenty of preseason buzz.

Not only is there plenty of star power on each team in the 2023 Vegas Showdown, the benches will feature former collegiate and professional standouts. Bobby Hurley (Arizona State), Jerry Stackhouse (Vanderbilt), and Mark Pope (BYU) combined to play 29 seasons in the NBA. Hurley (Duke, '91 & '92) and Pope (Kentucky, '96) each won NCAA Championships as a player.

SUN DEVILS IN VEGAS
Head Coach Bobby Hurley and Sun Devil Men's Basketball are no stranger to competing in Las Vegas, as the program has had plenty of success in the city during his tenure. Arizona State went 3-1 in Las Vegas a season ago, picking up victories over Creighton, Oregon State, and USC. In previous years, Coach Hurley has guided ASU to neutral site tournament championships at the 2017 Continental Tire Invitational and the 2018 MGM Resorts Main Event. Here is a look back at some of the program's biggest triumphs in the Entertainment Capital of the World.
