Texas Tech head coach Grant McCasland has officially announced the signing of Tyeree Bryan who will join the Red Raider program with one season of eligibility remaining.
A 6-foot-5 guard from Orlando, Florida, Bryan played the last two seasons at Santa Clara, one at Charleston Southern and his freshman year at Indian River State College. Through three NCAA seasons, Bryan has scored 900 points and made 144 3-pointers (41.6 percent) in 93 career games. He is coming off a season at Santa Clara where he averaged 10.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.06 3-pointers made per game.
Bryan scored a career-high 35 points against Gonzaga last season, making 7-of-12 of his 3-point attempts and finishing at 13-for-21 from the field. He also added seven rebounds and four assists in the game. He made four or more 3-pointers in seven games last season, including making 5-of-6 from beyond the arc against UC Riverside in the NIT. Bryan finished his junior season by shooting 66-for-154 (42.9 percent) on 3-pointers and also had 51 assists and 36 steals. He would play in 32 games with 25 starts, recording 16 games with double-figure scoring performances after also scoring 18 points against Pepperdine in the WCC quarterfinals.
During his two seasons at Santa Clara, Bryan played in 64 games and had 32 double-figure scoring performances – averaging 9.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game for the Broncos. He began his collegiate career by playing at Charleston Southern as a freshman where he averaged 10.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 rebounds. He shot 42.1 percent on 3-pointers during that season, making 40-of-95 attempts from deep, with a season-high 23 points in games against Kennesaw State and Winthrop. Through three NCAA seasons, Bryan is 144-for-346 (41.6 percent) on 3-point attempts and is averaging 9.7 points per game. He began his collegiate career at Indian River State College where he averaged 12.1 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Fort Pierce, Florida junior college.
Bryan is the first player to sign with Texas Tech this offseason following its run to the 2025 NCAA Tournament Elite 8. The Red Raiders finished last season with a 28-9 overall record, including being second in the Big 12 standings with a 15-5 conference record. Tech matched the program record with a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the program's third Elite 8. The Red Raiders are 51-20 over the past two seasons under McCasland with back-to-back trips to the national tournament.
