(BCSNN) — More good news for fans of the Blue Devils as forward Sebastian Wilkins has committed to Duke, reclassifying from the 2026 class to join the Blue Devils in 2025. The Brewster Academy standout announced he is choosing Duke over Maryland, which solidifies the program’s No. 1 recruiting class for the upcoming cycle.

Wilkins, a 6-foot-8, 215-pound prospect, has been praised for his versatility and defensive ability. Ranked No. 32 in the 2026 class before reclassifying, he has developed into a modern combo-forward capable of playing and defending multiple positions. His ability to stretch the floor, attack close-outs, and contribute as a potential 3-and-D player made him a highly sought-after recruit.

Duke head coach Jon Scheyer has built a reputation as one of the nation’s top recruiters, and Wilkins’ commitment continues that trend. The Blue Devils’ incoming class already features elite prospects such as Cameron and Cayden Boozer, Dame Sarr, and Nikolas Khamenia. Wilkins’ addition further strengthens Duke’s depth and defensive presence, particularly as the team prepares for potential roster changes with Washington State transfer Cedric Coward still testing the NBA Draft waters.

Wilkins cited Duke’s straightforward approach and belief in his potential as key factors in his decision. “They were honest with me through everything,” Wilkins said. “They see me making a huge impact, and I’m ready to work for whatever I get”. His commitment marks another significant win for Scheyer and the Blue Devils as they aim to build a championship-contending roster for the 2025-26 season.
