(BCSNN) — University of Memphis guard Sincere Parker was arrested Saturday on an aggravated assault charge following an alleged domestic violence incident involving his girlfriend, according to police records.

The 22-year-old Parker was taken into custody after a warrant was issued Friday. The incident reportedly occurred on May 27 at Parker’s Memphis apartment, where the victim told police she was pushed, slapped, and choked during an argument. The woman sustained bruising and bleeding to her mouth and claimed Parker broke her iPhone during the altercation. She identified Parker in a photo lineup on July 15 and expressed fear for her safety.

Parker remains in the Shelby County Jail without bond. His arraignment is scheduled for Monday. The University of Memphis acknowledged the situation but declined further comment, citing the ongoing investigation.

The arrest comes just months after Parker transferred to Memphis from McNeese State, where he averaged 12.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per game during the 2024–25 season. He played a pivotal role in McNeese’s run to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, including a 17-point performance against Purdue. Prior to McNeese, Parker spent two seasons at Saint Louis, where he posted 15.9 points per game in an injury-shortened junior campaign. He began his collegiate career at Moberly Area Community College, earning NJCAA All-American honors.

Parker was expected to be a key contributor for head coach Penny Hardaway’s retooled roster in 2025–26. His scoring ability and postseason experience were seen as assets for a Tigers squad looking to rebound from a first-round NCAA Tournament exit. With the legal proceedings underway, Parker’s future with the program remains uncertain, and the university may face scrutiny over its handling of the matter amid recent NCAA sanctions involving academic misconduct.

The Tigers have yet to announce any disciplinary action, and it remains unclear whether Parker will participate in team activities pending the outcome of the investigation.
