(BCSNN) — No. 16 Iowa State opened the 2025–26 season in emphatic fashion Monday night, cruising past FDU 88–50 at Hilton Coliseum for its 36th consecutive non-conference home win — the sixth-longest streak in the nation.
Junior forward Milan Momcilovic led the charge with a career-high 29 points on 11-of-16 shooting, including a personal-best seven 3-pointers. His seven made threes tied for 10th-most in a single game in Cyclone history and moved him to 13th all-time in career 3-pointers made at ISU (130).
Tamin Lipsey returned from injury and delivered a well-rounded performance with 18 points, five assists, and five steals — his sixth career game with five or more steals, tying for second in program history. Joshua Jefferson added 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for his 10th career double-double.
The Cyclones (1–0) never trailed, led by as many as 44 points, and shot 52.2% from the field while forcing 18 turnovers. Iowa State jumped out to a 17–5 lead and closed the first half on an 8–0 run to take a 45–19 advantage into the break.
Freshman Killyan Toure, the 26th rookie to start a season-opener for ISU, buried a 3-pointer during an 11–0 second-half run that ballooned the lead to 56–21.
