(BCSNN) — Indiana men's basketball made a statement to the college basketball world early - the Hoosiers are ready to play in 2025-26. Tucker DeVries dropped 27 points, Lamar Wilkerson added 23 and eight assists, and Indiana lit up the United Center with a 100–77 rout of Big East contender Marquette on Sunday afternoon.
It was Indiana’s first 100-point game in two years and a showcase of offensive precision and defensive bite. The Hoosiers (2–0) shot 50% from deep (14-for-28), dished out 27 assists on 33 made baskets, and forced 15 turnovers while committing just eight themselves.
DeVries set the tone early, scoring 24 in the first half and hitting six of nine from beyond the arc. Wilkerson took over in the second, burying clutch threes to halt Marquette’s comeback attempt and stretch the lead to 21. Conor Enright added flair with a half-court buzzer-beater to close the first half.
Freshman Trent Sisley scored 15 points with five rebounds, Sam Alexis added 13 and five, and Enright — playing in front of a hometown crowd — chipped in seven points and five assists before fouling out.
Marquette (2–1) was aggressive, drawing 25 fouls and earning 33 free throw attempts, but couldn’t keep pace with Indiana’s shot-making and ball movement. The Golden Eagles briefly cut the lead to 10 in the second half before Wilkerson and Sisley slammed the door.
Head coach Darian DeVries praised his team’s composure against full-court pressure and defensive versatility, while noting rebounding remains a work in progress. Marquette won the glass battle 39–34.
Next up for Indiana, the Hoosiers return home to face Milwaukee, out of the Horizon League, on Wednesday.
