(BCSNN) In a high-stakes showdown between former Pac-12 rivals, No. 5 Arizona stormed back to defeat No. 15 UCLA 69–65 Friday night in the Hall of Fame Series at Intuit Dome. Anthony Dell’Orso scored 20 points off the bench and Jaden Bradley delivered the go-ahead three-pointer to cap a late rally and seal the win.
Arizona (4–0) improves to 23–13 against Top 25 opponents under head coach Tommy Lloyd — the second-best winning percentage in the nation during that span. The Wildcats overcame an eight-point deficit midway through the second half, fueled by an 11–2 run that included a clutch three from Dell’Orso to take the lead at 60–59.
Dell’Orso scored 13 of his 20 points in the first half, including three triples, and added a pair of free throws with 17 seconds left to give Arizona a four-point cushion. Bradley scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half, including a three-pointer and two drives that extended the Wildcats’ lead to 67–63.
UCLA (3–1) was led by Tyler Bilodeau with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Eric Dailey Jr. added 13 points and Donovan Dent chipped in 11 points and eight assists.
The crowd of dueling “UCLA” and “U of A” chants created a postseason atmosphere inside the NBA arena, and Arizona responded with poise and precision down the stretch.
Up next for the Cats, Arizona returns home to face UC Irvine on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at McKale Center.
