(BCSNN) — Clemson men’s basketball outlasted Georgia in overtime to capture the 2025 Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic Championship, the program’s second title in five tournament appearances. The Tigers previously won the event in 2008.

Jestin Porter earned tournament MVP honors after leading Clemson with 18 points on seven made field goals, including four from beyond the arc. The Tigers (6–1) showcased balanced scoring, with six players reaching double figures for the first time since December 2021. Dillon Hunter added 16 points, Butta Johnson scored 13, RJ Godfrey chipped in 12, while Carter Welling and Zac Foster each finished with 11.

Clemson trailed by 10 in the first half but rallied behind Godfrey’s free throws in the closing seconds to take a 41–40 lead into halftime. It marked the second straight game in which the Tigers overcame a double-digit deficit to win.

Out of the break, Clemson used a 13–3 run to build its largest lead of the night at 10 points. Georgia responded with a surge of its own, reclaiming a three-point advantage midway through the second half.

The Bulldogs tied the game at 80–80 with 12 seconds remaining in regulation. Porter nearly won it with a put-back attempt that rattled off the rim, sending the contest into overtime.

In the extra session, Johnson buried a three-pointer to give Clemson an 88–83 lead. The Tigers sealed the victory at the foul line, converting 8-of-10 free throws in overtime to hold off Georgia’s comeback bid.

Hunter delivered a season-high 16 points and a career-best seven rebounds, while going 6-for-6 from the line. Nick Davidson pulled down a season-high nine boards to go with six points.

Clemson finished 22-of-29 from the free-throw line and shot 44 percent from three-point range (11-of-25). The Tigers improved to 27–56 all-time against Georgia, winning their third straight in the series.

Head coach Brad Brownell earned his 298th victory at Clemson and 465th overall. The win marked Clemson’s third consecutive regular-season tournament championship and fourth under Brownell. The Tigers return home to face Alabama A&M on Friday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. on ACCNX.
