(BCSNN) - Junior Elliot Cadeau and the second-ranked Michigan men’s basketball team delivered another statement win Tuesday night, dismantling Villanova 89-61 before a sold-out Crisler Center crowd.

Cadeau scored 15 points and dished four assists in the first half alone, fueling a 30-point lead at the break that snapped Villanova’s seven-game win streak. He finished with 18 points, one shy of his career high, while adding a personal-best four three-pointers, four assists, and three rebounds.

The Wolverines (9-0) showcased their depth, with 11 players scoring and four reaching double figures. Freshman Aday Mara contributed 11 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks, while Morez Johnson Jr. and Roddy Gayle Jr. nearly posted double-doubles.

Michigan dominated the paint, scoring 30 first-half points inside and continuing to attack after halftime. Mara’s alley-oop to Johnson and his own dunk highlighted the second-half surge. Villanova (7-2) struggled against Mara’s size, committing three fouls in a span of possessions as Michigan extended its lead.

Though the Wolverines cooled off late, missing 12 of their final 15 three-point attempts, the cushion remained intact. Trey McKenney’s one-legged, step-through three-pointer as the shot clock expired epitomized the night, pushing the lead to 81-47 before the bench closed out the victory.

Defensively, Michigan forced 15 turnovers and held Villanova to season lows in points (61), field-goal percentage (34 percent), and assists (six). The Wildcats, ranked third nationally in offensive rebounding entering the game, managed just five boards on the offensive glass.

The win marked Michigan’s sixth straight blowout and made the Wolverines the first undefeated team in Division I to record victories against opponents from each Power Five conference this season.

Michigan now heads east for a Big Ten matchup against Maryland on Saturday at the XFINITY Center.
