(BCSNN) — Texas Tech sophomore guard Christian Anderson has been selected to the midseason top 10 list for the 2026 Bob Cousy Award, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced. Anderson, a two‑time Big 12 Player of the Week this season, ranks third nationally and leads the Big 12 with 7.5 assists per game while also averaging 19.6 points and 3.4 made three‑pointers.

He joins Labaron Philon (Alabama), Jaden Bradley (Arizona), Darius Acuff (Arkansas), Kingston Flemings (Houston), Bennett Stirtz (Iowa), Tamin Lipsey (Iowa State), Jeremy Fears (Michigan State), Braden Smith (Purdue) and Tyler Tanner (Vanderbilt) on the list.

Anderson has posted five double‑doubles this season and has scored in double figures 19 times, including nine 20‑point games. The 6‑foot‑3 Atlanta native opened the season with a career‑high 34 points and 11 assists against Lindenwood and later recorded a career‑best 13 assists in a win over Oklahoma State. He has two double‑doubles in Big 12 play, highlighted by 26 points and 12 assists against Utah.

He is shooting 43.6 percent from three (72‑for‑165), including an 8‑for‑10 performance in a road win at Baylor. Anderson ranks fifth in the Big 12 and 15th nationally in three‑point percentage and is 13th nationally in threes made per game. A starter in all 21 games for the 16‑5 Red Raiders, he is second nationally in minutes played at 38:34 per game and has played all 40 minutes seven times.

Fan voting for the award opens Feb. 6 at hoophallawards.com and will count as one committee vote. The list will be narrowed to five in mid‑March, with finalists presented to Bob Cousy and the Hall of Fame’s selection committees later that month.

The Cousy Award selection committee includes media members, head coaches, sports information directors and Hall of Famers. The winner will be announced alongside the other members of the Men’s Starting Five, which also includes the Jerry West, Julius Erving, Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul‑Jabbar awards.

Past Cousy Award winners include Braden Smith (2025), Tristen Newton (2024), Markquis Nowell (2023), Ja Morant (2019), Jalen Brunson (2018), Trey Burke (2013) and Kemba Walker (2011).
