(BCSNN) SMU delivered another signature home victory Tuesday night, knocking off No. 21 Louisville 95–85 at Moody Coliseum and ending the Cardinals’ five‑game winning streak.

Jaron Pierre Jr. scored 25 points and Boopie Miller added 23 points with nine assists to lead the Mustangs (18–8, 7–6 ACC). Miller’s floater with 6:19 remaining broke a 76–76 tie and sparked a decisive stretch in which SMU made six straight field goals, including back‑to‑back threes from Corey Washington, who finished with 18 points.

Pierre punctuated the win with an alley‑oop dunk off a Miller pass with 1:49 left, pushing the lead to 91–83 and sending the home crowd into a frenzy. The victory marked SMU’s second home win over a ranked ACC opponent this season, following a 97–83 triumph over then‑No. 12 North Carolina on Jan. 3.

Louisville freshman Mikel Brown Jr. scored 29 points, matching his total from the Cardinals’ previous game and continuing a torrid stretch that included a 45‑point performance on Feb. 9. J’Vonne Hadley added 14 points and nine rebounds, and Ryan Conwell scored 12 for Louisville (19–6, 8–5).

The game featured 17 lead changes and 16 ties between two of the ACC’s highest‑scoring teams. Louisville briefly took a 74–73 lead on Brown’s reverse layup with eight minutes left, but SMU responded with poise, closing the game on a 22–11 run. The Mustangs led 52–49 at halftime.

SMU improved to 18–8 and strengthened its NCAA Tournament résumé under second‑year head coach Andy Enfield. Louisville returns home looking to regroup after its streak was snapped.
