(BCSNN) — No. 10 Illinois built an early lead and never trailed, using a deep and efficient scoring effort to defeat USC 101–65 on Wednesday night at the Galen Center. The Illini (22–5, 13–3 Big Ten) had seven players score in double figures, the most by a Big Ten team in a road win over a power‑conference opponent in at least 15 seasons.

The 36‑point margin was Illinois’ largest in a Big Ten road game in 80 years, dating back to a 70–28 win at Chicago on Jan. 19, 1946.

Andrej Stojakovic returned from a two‑game absence and scored a game‑high 22 points in 18 minutes off the bench. He shot 6 of 7 from the field, made his lone 3‑point attempt and went 9 for 9 at the free‑throw line.

David Mirkovic added 14 points, while Kylan Boswell and Jake Davis each scored 12. Ben Humrichous finished with 11 points, and Tomislav Ivisic added 10. Davis and Humrichous combined for seven of Illinois’ 13 3‑pointers, with Ivisic and Mirkovic each hitting two.

Davis also grabbed a team‑high seven rebounds, his best effort of the season.

Illinois shot 52 percent from the field, 45 percent from 3‑point range and 92 percent at the free‑throw line, becoming the only Big Ten team since at least 2000 to post 50‑40‑90 shooting splits in a 100‑point performance.

USC fell to 18–8 and 7–8 in Big Ten play.

Illinois concludes its two‑game Los Angeles road trip Saturday at UCLA. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CT on FOX.
