Baylor men's basketball was due for a win and earned it in comeback fashion, overcoming its first halftime deficit of the season to claim a 73-68 victory over Arizona State on Saturday afternoon in Foster Pavilion.

Baylor (14-13, 4-10 Big 12) trailed by eight points, 40-32, at the half against Arizona State (14-12, 5-9 Big 12), but held the Sun Devils to just 28 points in the second half to earn its first comeback victory since Feb. 1, 2025, where the Bears took down No. 11 Kansas at home after overcoming a 19-point deficit.

The Sun Devils' 68 points were the fewest in a road game this season for ASU.

The second-half comeback was led by Obi Agbim, who hit three clutch buckets from deep in the final minutes and put up 13 of his 16 total points in the second half. Overall, four Bears earned double-digits on the day, including Tounde Yessoufou with 16 points. Yessoufou's six made field goals tied the freshman program record of field goals made with 182 on the season, tying with Larry Spicer (1975-76).

Isaac Williams IV carried BU in the first half with 12 of his 14 points in the first 20 minutes and led the team with five assists. Cameron Carr ended with 13 points for another night in double-figures for the Bear. Caden Powell led the team with seven rebounds along with eight points. Powell graded out well with a positive 15 on the box score.

THE RUNDOWN
Arizona State opened the scoring on Saturday afternoon, but Williams responded quickly for the Bears, and Yessoufou finished at the rim to give BU its first lead of the day. Moments later, Yessoufou came up with a steal that set up a Powell dunk, helping Baylor build on its early advantage.

Williams continued to make an impact offensively, finishing at the rim to stretch the lead back to three. Agbim then knocked down Baylor's first triple of the night, though it was quickly answered on the other end.

Carr brought Foster Pavilion to its feet with his 35th dunk of the season, extending his team-leading total. The Sun Devils answered, and the teams traded the lead seven times in a three-minute stretch before Yessoufou knocked down a triple to put Baylor back in front by two.

The teams continued to trade the lead until ASU used an 8-0 run over a two-minute span to create separation. Dan Skillings Jr. halted the momentum with a triple, but the Sun Devils carried a 40-32 advantage into the break.

Carr opened the second-half scoring with a triple to chip away at Arizona State's lead. A three from Michael Rataj followed by a highlight-reel dunk from Carr evened the game at 44.

Yessoufou reclaimed the Baylor lead with his second triple of the afternoon, putting the Bears in front 49-48. Arizona State answered with a brief surge to regain a four-point edge, but the teams continued to trade buckets down the stretch, with Yessoufou and Powell powering Baylor's offense during the back-and-forth stretch.

Agbim knocked down a three from the top of the arc to put Baylor back in front by one. With three minutes to play and the game tied at 61, a Carr layup followed by another Agbim triple gave the Bears a five-point cushion.

With two minutes to play, a pair of free throws and an ASU layup trimmed the margin to one at 68-67. Agbim responded by drilling his fourth triple of the night, pushing the Bears back in front by four.

Agbim continued to be the difference for the Bears, finishing a layup and grabbing a crucial offensive rebound down the stretch to help seal a 73-68 victory.
