Desi Sills has signed an Athletics Financial Aid Agreement to play basketball next season at Auburn University, head coach Bruce Pearl announced Wednesday. Sills, who played at the University of Arkansas from 2018-21, will join the Tigers for the upcoming 2021-22 season and have two years of eligibility remaining.

"Desi is a proven winner," Pearl said. "He's a fierce competitor and a tough, physical defender. He's got the ability to create for himself as well as others. Playing in our up-tempo system should bring out the best of him. If he plays as well against others as he did against us, we hit the jackpot."

A 6-foot-2, 200-pound guard, Sills averaged 7.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while playing 20.8 minutes per contest while helping Razorbacks to a 25-7 record and an appearance in the Elite Eight.

The Jonesboro, Ark. native is the only player to compete in all 98 of Arkansas' games over the last three seasons. In fact, Sills is the most experienced Southeastern Conference player returning with 98 games played and nearly 2,240 career minutes.

Sills has played well in his career against Auburn, averaging 17.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 50 percent from the floor, including 53 percent behind the 3-point line.

In the last two seasons against the Tigers, Sills averaged 19.7 points per tilt and shot 52 percent from the field, including 57 percent from downtown.

Prior to the 2020-21 season, Sills was chosen as a Preseason All-SEC Second Team choice by the league's coaches.

Sills was a two-time First Team All-State selection while playing at Jonesboro High School. There, he captained the basketball team to back-to-back state championships, including a 32-0 record as a junior.

He averaged 20.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game as a senior and 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game as a junior.
