(BCSNN) — First‑year head coach Jerrod Calhoun added a major piece to Cincinnati’s 2026–27 roster with the signing of Tyler Tejada, the reigning Coastal Athletic Association Player of the Year. Tejada will have one year of eligibility remaining.

“When you think about Tyler, you think about versatility and a guy who can play multiple positions,” Calhoun said. “He played for a really good defensive‑minded coach in Pat Skerry, so there’s a toughness level he will bring. But I love his versatility to play a lot of different positions.”

Tejada, a 6‑foot‑6 forward from Teaneck, N.J., was one of the most productive mid‑major players in the country during his three seasons at Towson. He appeared in 93 games with 83 starts, averaging 14.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists, while shooting 42.8% from the field and 85.7% at the free‑throw line.

He delivered his best season as a junior, averaging 17.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists across 32 games. Tejada scored in double figures 29 times, including 12 games with 20 or more points and three 30‑point performances. He was named to the All‑CAA Tournament Team after averaging 31.3 points, shooting 52.5% from the field and going 23‑for‑24 at the line during Towson’s postseason run.

Tejada arrives at Cincinnati as a proven scorer with positional flexibility — a key addition for a Bearcats program reshaping its roster under Calhoun and looking to climb the Big 12 standings in 2026–27.
