UAB men's basketball head coach Andy Kennedy has announced the addition of Southern Utah transfer Elijah Duval.

"Excited for Jah to join Blazer Basketball," Kennedy said. "He's an electric playmaker capable of consistent scoring while also setting the table for his teammates. Jah is an explosive athlete who will impact the game on both sides of the ball. As the reigning WAC Freshman of the Year, he is ready to step in and make an immediate impact at UAB."

Duval, a 6-foot-3 guard from Wilmington, Delaware, spent the past season at Southern Utah, appearing in 31 games. He averaged 26.3 minutes, 15.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game while leading the team in points, assists, free throws made, and steals.

The WAC Freshman of the Year shot 47% from the field and 32% from three-point range. He was also named to the WAC All-Freshman Team and earned All-Conference Second Team honors. Duval scored a career-high 30 points in the regular-season finale against Cal Baptist.

A four-star recruit by ESPN and a three-star prospect according to 247Sports, Duval played at Martin County High School before competing at Orangeville Prep.

He becomes the 11th addition to UAB's 2026 signing class, joining high school prospects Jakobi Sharp and Korie Corbett; junior college transfers Tim Holliday, Shah Hall, and Matt Mbole; and Division I transfers Jeremy Elyzee, Deuce Jones, Justyn Fernandez, TJ Caldwell, and Aleks Alston.
