(BCSNN) -- The University of Louisville men’s basketball program will host Texas in the 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge, the leagues and ESPN announced Wednesday. The matchup is set for Tuesday, Dec. 1 at the KFC Yum! Center, with game times and television assignments to be announced later.
Louisville leads the all‑time series 4–2 against Texas and holds a 2–0 record against the Longhorns in games played in Louisville. The teams most recently met in the 2023 Empire Classic at Madison Square Garden, but Texas has not visited Louisville since Dec. 9, 1995, when the Cardinals won 101–78.
Louisville is 94–88 all‑time against current SEC opponents. Texas finished 22nd in the final AP Poll of the 2025–26 season after advancing to the Sweet 16.
The SEC/ACC Challenge will feature games across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ACC Network and SEC Network, with full broadcast details to be released at a later date.
