(BCSNN) -- Another pro player is headed to the SEC with news that Australian guard Ben Henshall has signed with Ole Miss. Henshall, 22, spent the past three seasons playing professionally for the Perth Wildcats and began evaluating his college eligibility after completing his 2025‑26 NBL campaign.
The guard from down under attended the 2025 NBA draft combine before withdrawing his name, briefly explored college interest, then re‑signed with Perth. He was auto‑eligible for last month’s NBA draft but was not selected.
He will join Ole Miss as part of its 2026 class, and there is hope he will have two years of eligibility, sources said, though whether he will be cleared for a second season remains undetermined.
Coach Chris Beard and the Rebels expect Henshall to contribute immediately as they look to rebound from last season’s 15–20 finish. Ole Miss returns two perimeter starters — Ilias Kamardine (11.3 PPG) and Patton Pinkins (9.3 PPG) — and adds six transfers, headlined by Adam Clark (Seton Hall), Dasear Haskins (Saint Joseph’s) and Roman Siulepa (Pitt).
A 6‑foot‑5 combo guard from Perth, Western Australia, Henshall is a three‑level scorer with notable positional size and the potential to develop into an elite perimeter shooter. He averaged 8.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists during the 2025‑26 NBL season and is a 30.9% three‑point shooter across his three years with the Wildcats.
Internationally, Henshall has been a consistent member of the Australian Boomers, competing in two windows of the 2027 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers and helping Australia win gold at the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup. His most extensive FIBA action came during the Asia Cup qualifiers, where he averaged 11.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists over four games.
Before turning professional, Henshall attended the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence at the Australian Institute of Sport.
