Temple Football head coach Stan Drayton has announced that Larry Knight will join his staff as Defensive Line Coach. For Knight, this marks a return to Temple where he served as a coach from 2017-18.

"Coach Knight is an outstanding young coach who knows what it takes to win here at Temple," said Drayton. "He knows how to get the best of his players, evidenced by the development of Keion White who he helped become a second round draft choice for the New England Patriots. He understands the culture that it takes to win here in North Philadelphia and what type of student-athletes can be developed on 10th and Diamond. I'm excited to add him to this staff."

Knight returns to Temple after spending the past three seasons at Georgia Tech where he followed former Temple head coach Geoff Collins in 2019. He left Georgia Tech in January and spent the past few months at Toledo.

Knight originally joined Temple as a quality-control assistant for defense and recruiting in 2017, and was elevated to director of player personnel in February of 2018 before being promoted again to outside linebackers coach/ defensive recruiting coordinator a month later. In 2018, he was part of a defensive staff that helped Temple rank in the top four nationally in defensive touchdowns scored, and rank among the American Athletic Conference's top three teams in total defense.

Prior to his first stint at Temple, Knight held roles at Georgia State (2015-16), Tennessee (2013-14), and Cincinnati (2011-12).
