Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers (offensive) and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell (newcomer) were joined by Oklahoma linebacker Danny Stutsman (defensive) and UCF kicker Colton Boomer (special teams) as Big 12 football weekly award winners. Ewers and Stutsman also picked up Walter Camp National Players of the Week.

Ewers led Texas to a 34-24 win at No. 3 Alabama by completing 24-of-38 passes for 349 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. After Alabama had taken its only lead of the game late in the third quarter, Ewers went 6-of-7 for 135 yards and two touchdowns in the final period. He led the offense on three total TD drives in the quarter, reclaiming the lead for good 1:09 after the Crimson Tide had taken it. The sophomore also extended his streak of consecutive passes without an interception to 184, the second-longest stretch in program history (Sam Ehlinger, 308). The win snapped a 21-game home winning streak for Alabama, and a 57-game home non-conference streak. It was the first non-conference road victory for the Longhorns over an AP Top-3 opponent in program history and the first victory on the road against any top-three team since 1969.

In a 28-11 win over SMU, Stutsman registered 17 tackles (one shy of his career high), 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, a QB hurry and a fumble recovery in OU territory. He keyed a Sooners defense that limited the Mustangs to 367 yards and 4.6 yards per play after they averaged 473 ypg and 6.1 ypp last season. OU also held the Mustangs to a combined 6-for-20 performance on third and fourth downs and limited them to their lowest point total since 2017.

Boomer turned in one of the best performances by a kicker in program history, highlighted by hitting a game-winning 40-yard field goal as time expired to lift UCF to an 18-16 victory at Boise State. He was a perfect 4-for-4 on field goals, matching the program record for most field goals by an individual in a single game. Boomer converted his first try of the day from 50 yards to set a career long at the time. He drilled his next attempt from 33 yards and then tied the program record and topped his previous career long with a 55-yard field goal. The sophomore became just the second player in program history to convert on two field goals from 50-plus yards during the same game and the first to do it at the FBS level. With three seconds remaining in the game, Boomer completed a perfect day by splitting the uprights from 40 yards out to send the Knights home victorious. Boomer accounted for 12 of UCF's 18 points in the game. He's one of just three kickers nationally with four field goals in a game this season.

Mitchell caught three passes for 78 yards and two touchdowns in helping Texas to its 34-24 win at No. 3 Alabama. Both of Mitchell's touchdowns came in the fourth quarter with the first reclaiming the lead for the Longhorns for good after the Crimson Tide had taken their first and only lead just over a minute earlier. His second touchdown went for 39 yards for the final margin of victory with 8:23 to go. Texas was then able to run out the clock on the next possession.
