Oklahoma QB Dillon Gabriel (offensive) and WR Nic Anderson (newcomer) along with BYU DE Tyler Batty (defensive) and Houston KR Matthew Golden (special teams) picked up Big 12 Football Week 3 awards.

Gabriel set a single-game school record (min. 25 attempts) for completion percentage by going 28 for 31 (.903) in a 66-17 win at Tulsa. In just three quarters of play, he threw for 421 yards and five touchdowns en route to a 251.2 pass efficiency rating, which was the highest by a Power Five player during the week and the fourth highest by a P5 player on the season. The Mililani, Hawaii, product completed his first 10 passes and 15 of his first 16 on the day, and became just the fourth FBS player since at least 1996 to complete at least 90% of his passes (min. 30 attempts) and throw for at least 400 yards. He led OU to scores on seven of his eight drives (six touchdowns and one field goal). The last time the Sooners scored more points in a true road game was in 1980. Gabriel leads the nation in pass completion percentage (.825) and ranks second in pass efficiency rating (220.4) and points responsible for per game (24.0).

Defensive end Batty had a career high nine tackles, including 1.5 tackles for a loss of 10 yards and 1.5 sacks in BYU's 38-31 win over Arkansas. He also forced a fumble late in the fourth quarter and recovered another fumble with just 3:49 to play in the game to end a Razorback drive and help BYU hold on for the road victory at Arkansas. Batty was named to the prestigious Allstate AFCA Good Works Team by the American Football Coaches Association and Allstate last week.

Golden ran back a 98-yard return against TCU for the first kick return touchdown of his career and Houston’s nation-leading seventh since 2019. It was the 19th for the Cougars since 2008, which is tied for second nationally (San Diego State), and the 30th in the history of the program. Golden totaled 132 yards on three kick returns and had four receptions for 56 yards.

Anderson became the first freshman in Oklahoma history to register three receiving touchdowns in a game in the Sooners’ 66-17 win at Tulsa. He finished with three receptions for a career-high 120 yards (40.0 average), scoring on plays from 28, 42 and 50 yards. They were his first three career touchdowns. Anderson also became just the third Sooner across any class to score three receiving TDs in a game on three catches, joining Curtis Fagan (vs. Baylor in 2000) and Jack Lockett (vs. Oklahoma A&M in 1950). He entered the game with two career catches for 68 yards.
