A second-half surge by TCU fell short in a 35-28 loss to Texas Tech on Thursday night at Jones AT&T Stadium.

Trailing 20-7 at the half, TCU scored twice in a 3:21 span of the third quarter to take a 21-20 lead. Emani Bailey capped both scoring drives with touchdowns. The two rushing scores equaled his season total entering the game.

A 93-yard drive, capped by Bailey's 16-yard touchdown run, closed TCU within 20-14. A key play was a 35-yard Hoover completion to Jared Wiley on a 3rd-and-14. It was Wiley's longest reception as a Horned Frog.

On Texas Tech's ensuing possession, TCU's Dominic Williams made the stop for no gain on a rush up the middle when the Red Raiders went for it on 4th-and-1 at their own 34. It then took TCU just five plays to reach the end zone on a Bailey 2-yard carry up the middle for its first lead of the game at 21-20 with 4:47 to play in the third quarter.

Bailey rushed for 57 yards to give him 908 on the season, 92 shy of his first 1,000-yard campaign. He also had a career-high five receptions for 36 yards.

The Horned Frogs closed within 35-28 with 4:54 to play on Trey Sanders' 1-yard run for his team-leading fifth rushing touchdown of the season.
